The history of Tenkara stems from Japan. The Japanese anglers would use bamboo rods with flies at the end to catch trout. It is super effective because of its simplicty. In 2009, the first American Tenkara tackle shop was opened up. The name is Tenkara USA. It has now become more popular than ever and there is great interest in the form.
